Printec H.T. Electronics Corp. Obtains ISO 14064-1
Greenhouse Gases Verification Opinion on October 09, 2023

With the issue of climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions becoming an important and critical concern and topic of discussion among various sectors, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) officially announced the ISO 14064 series standards in 2006 as the basis for greenhouse gas inventory and verification methods. These standards provide enterprises with a set of tools to assess, monitor, report, and verify green gas management quantitatively.

The ISO 14064 standard (initially published in 2006 and updated in 2018) is part of the ISO 14000 series of International Standards for environmental management. The ISO 14064 standard provides governments, businesses, regions, and other organizations with a complementary set of tools for programs to quantify, monitor, report, and verify greenhouse gas emissions. The ISO 14064 standard supports organizations to participate in both regulated and voluntary programs such as emissions trading schemes and public reporting using a globally recognized standard.

Printec HT management is responsible for the organization’s GHG information system, the development and maintenance of records and reporting procedures in accordance with that system, including the calculation and determination of GHG emissions information and reported GHG emissions.

What is the global effect of greenhouse gases?

Multiple greenhouse gases occur naturally in the atmosphere, but human activity contributes to their accumulation. As a result, the greenhouse effect in the atmosphere is boosted and alters our planets climate, leading to shifts in snow and rainfall patterns, a rise in average temperatures and more extreme climate events such as heatwaves and floods.

Printec is pleased to announce it has been Verified through TUV NORD in accordance with ISO 14064-1, formalizing decades of investment in sustainability and helping drive the industry towards net-zero emissions.

The decision to become Verified in accordance with ISO 14064-1 was taken to formalize the extensive work the company had already undertaken around sustainability. Accreditation to the standard will enable Printec to fully support its customers who have either achieved ISO 14064-1 certification or who are working towards it, and actively encourage its supply chain to attain this standard.
